Homeschooling for College Credit
Tri-Credit: Google Career Certificates
The HS4CC Tri-Credit™
Google Career Certificates are a perfect example of the HS4CC Tri-Credit™ model, where one learning experience can generate value in three different ways.
1. High School Credit
Parents may document the completion of a Google Career Certificate on the homeschool transcript as a career and technical education (CTE), business, information technology, or elective course, consistent with their homeschool policies.
2. Industry Credential
Students earn a professional certificate from Google that demonstrates workforce-ready skills in high-demand fields. These credentials can strengthen a student's resume, portfolio, scholarship applications, and college admissions profile.
3. Potential College Credit
Many Google Career Certificates carry ACE credit recommendations. Participating colleges and universities may award college credit in accordance with their own credit policies.
This combination of high school credit, an industry-recognized credential, and potential college credit is what HS4CC calls the Tri-Credit™ model.
